I’ll start to sell products on amazon as an individual not a business to give a try at first. My question is: Should I register with an authority to pay taxes for what I’m selling or how can I pay the taxes?

In reply to Luis J Arteda. Hi Luis, In this case, I do not think Amazon is the best place to sell these items as you will not have multiple units. I suggest eBay or Facebook marketplace for such items.

In reply to Teresa Harris. You can update your business information within the account settings section in Seller Central. I suggest contacting support beforehand to let them know you will be updating your account info. Just FYI, you do not need an LLC to open a professional seller account.

If you set up an individual account under your personal name but later on want to change it to a Profesional account as an LLC, is this possible? I know they want to verify identity with utility bill or bank statement. Would we just get our LLC, FEIN, and bank account open with the LLC before trying to make the switch?

In reply to James. Hi James, Yes, you can start with that, but it is limited, as you mentioned. Once you are ready to sell and are serious about selling products on Amazon, upgrade to the pro account.
