Hi Gene,

Once you know the product you are going to sell, you should apply. You will not be able to create a listing and ship inventory to FBA without a UPC or an exemption.

By the way, you can buy just one UPC from GS1 for $30.

After I have received sample products with my private label on them, but before mass production? Is it a bad thing to have packaged products shipped to FBA center, not knowing if the exemption was approved? Thank you!

You don’t necessarily need a UPC to sell on Amazon but it is best that you do.

Hi Charles,

Yes, you can do so from your location!

Yes, you can ask your supplier to print the FNSKU barcode onto your product packaging. That way, you won’t need to do it yourself or pay Amazon to attach the labels.

Hi Tonza,

Yes, you will need a GTIN for each variation you offer.
